Waipara Springs

Setting
The chic cellar door and cafe reside in leafy, established surrounds that shelter you snugly from the main highway. With plenty of large rustic tables in the covered, sheltered courtyard you can enjoy being alfresco even in the chill of winter.

Things to know
Part of the Southern Boundary Wine Group (which also produces Bascand Estate, Waipara Downs, The Springs and Jack’s Canyon brands), the Waipara Springs team have a proven track history of crafting award-winning wines from some of the oldest vines in the area. The wines are produced in two distinct tiers: the fruit-driven, widely appealing Waipara Springs range and the limited-edition Premo Reserve wines, which are designed to showcase the unique terroir of the vineyard and to age in the cellar. The team in the kitchen strive to showcase as much local, seasonal produce as possible. Choose from the a la carte menu or the specials board. The Springs Platters have fans far and wide, as does the kids’ menu.

Our picks
The Waipara Springs Premo Chardonnay is a ripe, juicy, toasty wine with creamy undertones while the Waipara Springs Pinot Gris has clean pear and quince characters.
