Set among the vines and right next to the winery is Richmond Plains’ cellar door. Shared with Te Mania Estate, the bright, sunny venue also features some amazing works of art created from vine prunings.
Things To Know
Richmond Plains began life back in 1991, and has been making organic wines since the beginning. It was the first company in New Zealand to produce a sauvignon blanc from certified organic and biodynamic grapes, leading the way for many other producers.
Richmond Plains is one of only a few New Zealand wineries to produce a blanc de noir – a white wine made from pinot noir grapes. Also try the pinot noir, which has a complex nose and an elegant finish.
