Selaks Reserve Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2013
From Hawke’s Bay’s red metal soils, Selaks Reserve has a nose of raspberries, red cherries and peppery spice. There’s a notable seasoning of dusty oak, and while it wasn’t the freshest-tasting wine in the line-up, the palate compensates with very ripe flavours and a plush, creamy texture that dovetails easily into furry-textured tannins.
