Elephant Hill Reserve Syrah 2013
A great carved wooden elephant presides over this modern seaside winery at the southern end of Hawke’s Bay’s coastline. Here we have a juicy, vibrant syrah to sip with smoked meats, salamis and hams. Succulent, layered red and black fruit mark nose and palate, and its freshness is enhanced by a slightly high-toned edge, with sinewy tannins holding it together well.
