Church Road Grand Reserve Hawkes Bay Syrah 2013
A big, solid Hawke’s Bay syrah that would be best with hearty fare like slow-braised oxtail. It opens with spicy, jammy fruit of warmth and potency, trimmed in savoury, toasty elements, and it tastes very concentrated with a firm backbone. While not exactly subtle, this syrah does have tons of personality.
