Brown Brothers 18 Eighty Nine Shiraz
Milawa in north-eastern Victoria is Brown Brothers’ heartland, but the winery hasn’t stood still, expanding into other parts of the state for grapes. They are very impressed with Heathcote and this wine justifies the faith. It’s a savoury style with a core of smooth berries trimmed in notes of carnation and pepper. The palate is ripe and lush, with fine acidity and moderate tannins keeping it fresh and alive.
