Villa Maria Estate

Setting
This sizeable vineyard, set in a natural amphitheatre, is surrounded by old willows and mature trees with the winery at one end. It feels entirely right here, yet it’s smack bang in south Auckland’s industrial neighbourhood, only minutes from the Auckland International Airport. The modern, concrete-and-glass winery building houses the head office, function rooms, cellar door and cafe, and despite all the activity that is going on, the place has a zen-like calmness (after all, you are standing on an ancient volcanic crater). Villa Maria has become an icon in the Auckland wine scene with exceptional wine offerings.

Things To Know
They do make the most of this beautiful surrounding. Private functions are well catered for, and summer outdoor concerts attract some of the biggest names in music.
