Saint Clair Family Estate

Setting
The newly renovated bright and airy cellar door is a welcoming sight for visitors, as is the range of wines on offer. The outdoor garden, just metres from the vines, offers plenty of seating to enjoy the bountiful Marlborough sunshine. On cooler days, you can enjoy a tasting inside in front of the cosy fire.

Things To Know
As its name says, this is very much a family estate. Neal and Judy Ibbotson were some of the first growers in Marlborough and went on to launch their own label in 1994. These days their children are all involved in the business. The wines are consistently lauded and on more than one occasion Saint Clair Family Estate has been named New Zealand’s Wine Company of the Year.

Our Picks
“Sauvignon blanc heaven” is how one traveller described Saint Clair wines. We can’t disagree. But don’t overlook the pinot noir, especially the Pioneer Block pinots.

Saint Clair Family Estate Vineyard Kitchen
The menu celebrates the region’s best produce and changes regularly, offering everything from mussel chowder to venison burgers. Dine inside or out.
