Lincoln

Setting
Another West Auckland stalwart, a fourth-generation Fredatovich, Peter, runs this popular winery. The home vineyard is no longer here on Lincoln Rd but the home base is thriving with enthusiasm and an innovative approach to cellar door operation. A recent renovation doubled the size of the previously cute and cosy door, plus added wall-to-wall shelving and modern lighting. The resulting space is now dubbed Blanc, and sells a wide range of different wines, an eclectic collection of spirits and an impressive selection of craft beers (some available on tap for fill-your-own), while also functioning as the Lincoln cellar door.

Things To Know
During summer you can get bar snacks and pizzas on Fridays and Saturdays, and there are regular in-store tasting events – from Argentine wines to sherry evenings. Also look out also for special events, such as craft beer festivals.

Our Picks
Ice Wine is lusciously delicious with ample sweetness, and Lincoln is one of the few places in the country still making aged tawny.

Plus
Behind the cellar door, the barrel hall has been stylishly transformed into a private function room. Langtons on Lincoln has an ambience of yesteryear with impressive large old wooden vats lining a wall. Indoor and outdoor options are available.
