Apparently the Sileni were sidekicks of the Greek god of wine, Dionysus. This meaty, savoury type of Hawke’s Bay syrah is great with hearty gnocchi with braised veal. Aromas of carnations, plums, earthy and gamey nuances lead through a muscular, powerful wine of good texture and depth.
